Staff and patients are celebrating as Hollinwood Medical Practice, one of our Oldham sites, has been rated “outstanding” by national GP inspecting body the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The Inspectors spent a full day at the practice talking with staff and patients to gather a clear picture of the service. Hollinwood Medical Practice, gained “outstanding” in four out of the five areas and a high “good” in the area of patient safety.
The company practices “whole person healthcare”, employing on-site counsellors and a Community Nurse to help support patients who often fall between the gaps of social and medical care in a Focused Care approach. The report explains;
“Specifically, we found the practice to be outstanding for providing caring, responsive, effective and well-led services. They were outstanding for providing services to most of the population groups, specifically those who were vulnerable. We also found that safe services were good.”
Laura Neilson, CEO of Hope Citadel welcomed the news:
“We are delighted to be recognised to provide an “outstanding” service for the people of Hollinwood and Limeside. Our aim is to provide excellent healthcare where it is most needed and to engage with the local community to bring long-term change.”
