Staff Development

Our incredible team have been taking every opportunity to learn and develop.

Jason's Story

Jason lived in Fitton Hill and had been to the youth clubs run by the Eden project. When he left school he was employed by Hope Citadel as a healthcare assistant. Within a month of starting Jason had decided he wanted to be a doctor. Jason went back and re-did his GCSEs. He continued to work and also completed an access course. In September 2012 he started at Medical School.

Some describe it as a family, and working for Hope Citadel Healthcare definitely makes you part of a team.

Each surgery team works together to meet the needs of its practice population, and those in different disciplines from Clinical leads, Nursing team, Counsellors, Practice Managers and admin staff across sites come together regularly to share experience, expertise, support and training in their specialist areas.

As individuals undergo training which will benefit the work of the company, learning and best practice is then shared between staff.

Our incredible team have been taking every opportunity to learn and develop.

  • We have supported three counsellors through their diplomas
  • We have trained two nurses to be specialist GP nurses
  • We support our nurse practitioners in ongoing development
  • Our doctors continue to learn and grow completing minor surgery qualifications, substance misuse qualifications, certificates in education, and dealing with emergencies.
  • Our back office staff are just as important. This year all our managers are undertaking formal training, and significant numbers of our administration staff are completing NVQ qualifications.
  • And there is nothing like experience so we welcome Significant Event reporting and analysis, review complaints and comments and do our upmost to learn from patient and staff experiences.

We really are better together.
